Sailors Knot (Aqua)
This type of Celtic knot is an enduring symbol of love, harmony and friendship, often used today on wedding rings.
Traditionally more of a rectangular shape, the Celtic sailor’s knot is visually different from other Celtic knotwork symbols.
It’s thought that the Sailors knot was created by sailors who would weave two ropes together to create an infinite loop, before long voyages at sea as a way of remembering their loved ones back on land. The Celtic knotwork symbolized the connection and bond these sailors shared with those who would patiently wait on land for them to return safely.
